When you send out an SMS campaign, you certainly want to know how it went. How many SMS did I send? Do I receive answers to my SMS? Were the messages I sent delivered as expected? If not, why were they not deliver? Can I get these statistics directly to my mailbox instead of going to the portal?
RingRing offers you the possibility to answer all of these questions within one simple add-on: Message Analytics. An add-on allows you to use additional features with your products. Message Analytics gives you statistics about the SMS traffic only. If you are looking for information regarding your voice calls or e-mail traffic, you can use Voice Analytics or Email Analytics. Using Message Analytics, enables you to see the main statistics of your SMS campaigns in one place. Now, let’s get over the questions stated earlier to see how and where exactly you can find that information.
How many SMS did I send? Do I receive answers to my SMS?
When opening the Message Analytics application, you arrive on the add-on dashboard. There you will find two graphs representing the amount of messages you sent or received. The line chart on the top left shows you how many SMS you sent and received over the past 7 days while the clustered column chart shows you traffic for the past 12 months. The right side of the screen shows you statistics of the last 24 hours, allowing you to quickly see the results of your latest activity. The pie chart at the bottom right of the screen gives a first answer to our second question (Were the messages I sent delivered as expected?) with showing you the proportion of SMS delivered (green) versus the proportion of SMS that were not delivered (red).
Were the messages I sent delivered as expected?
To have a clearer view on the delivery statistics, you can access the ‘reports’ tab on the top bar menu. Depending on the numbers you’d like to see, you can filter on ‘By months’ or ‘By days’ to see your statistics for these time ranges. If you are using multiple products to send out SMS and you’d like to have statistics for just one application, select the ‘By applications’ option under reports. Each report will give you a detailed list of the transactions made and some reports will also provide you with a graph for visualizing your data.
You will also be able to filter per period in all reports and make exports of the monthly and daily reports.
Why were my messages not delivered?
If you notice that some of your messages are not being delivered, you will want to know why. This can be done in the ‘Quality of Delivery’ tab in the top bar menu. On this page, an overview graph at the top left of the screen shows you the amount of messages sent and delivered per day so that you can easily spot potential issues. By adapting the filters at the top, you can change the dates of this graph.
Below the overview graph, you will find a table giving you the delivery statistics per country for the dates selected at the top. This allows you to spot if a specific country is having delivery issues. For a more visual representation of these stats, you can refer to the delivery map at the bottom of the screen. Passing over each country will give you information on delivery.
On the right side of the screen, you will find the delivery statistics for the entire period you selected in the filter at the top but, more importantly, you will find the failure reasons right underneath. This information will give you insight on why your messages were not delivered.
Can I get these statistics directly to my mailbox instead of using the Message Analytics add-on?
The answer is yes! In the top bar menu, you can select settings and then ‘Notifications’. By default, all notifications are turned off. You can activate daily, weekly or monthly notifications to receive an overview of your key statistics straight to your e-mail inbox. The notifications will be sent to the e-mail you use to log into the portal.
